SIMON KIM
Simon Kim is a street and travel photographer based in Vancouver, Canada.
Born in South Korea and lived across Korea, the US, Abu Dhabi, and Canada, he carries a Third Culture perspective that shapes how he sees light, space, and human connection. His work often explores how people and their environments interact, finding quiet geometry and fleeting emotion in everyday scenes.
Simon’s approach to photography is rooted in observation, studying how light moves, how a city breathes, and how stillness and chaos coexist. Each frame is both documentation and reflection, tracing the subtle narratives that unfold in public spaces and distant places alike.
Alongside his creative work, Simon leads marketing initiatives for boutique hotels, blending visual storytelling with brand experience. He also helps lead @busycreatives, a Vancouver-based creator community that connects photographers and filmmakers through photowalks and collaborative events.
This combination of artistic, strategic, and community-driven work defines his practice, built on noticing the world closely and translating it into images that feel lived-in and real.
